MapSprout starts with a free trial that includes the first few states. To unlock all 50 states, there is one in-app purchase — MapSprout Full Access for $3.99 USD (or local equivalent), charged once. That's it. No ads, no recurring fees.
No. MapSprout Full Access is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel and nothing that renews. Once you buy it, your access doesn't expire.
Not currently. MapSprout Full Access is purchased per Apple ID. However, your child's learning progress (stamps, badges, streak, road-trip history) automatically syncs across any devices signed into your child's iCloud account — so a kid using both an iPad and an iPhone with the same iCloud sees the same passport.
MapSprout is designed for children ages 6 and up who are starting to learn U.S. geography. The reading level, hint difficulty, and quiz pacing are tuned for early-elementary readers, but older kids who want a deeper challenge can use the harder Road Trip questions and badge tracks.
Yes — it's a universal app. The iPad version takes advantage of the larger screen with a side-by-side layout in landscape; the iPhone version uses a single-column layout. Progress syncs between them when both devices are signed into the same iCloud account.
Currently English only. Additional languages are on our roadmap; if you'd like to vote for one, send us a note.
Sign into the same Apple ID on the new device, install MapSprout, and either:
A grown-up will be asked a quick math question (the Grown-Up Check) before the restore runs. Once verified, your purchase will be applied.
This is the Grown-Up Check. Apple's "Made for Kids" guidelines require that any in-app purchase or restore action be gated behind a challenge a child is unlikely to solve unsupervised. The same gate protects the feedback form so children can't submit feedback without a grown-up.
Open Settings → Reset Progress. This erases all learning progress (stamps, badges, streak, road-trip history) and resets the app to its first-launch state — your child will see the welcome flow again the next time the app opens. Your purchase status is preserved, so you don't have to buy again.
Mostly. Sprout Quest, Practice mode, the state map, facts, stamps, badges, and streak tracking all work without an internet connection.
Road Trip mode needs internet for the 3D map flyovers between states — those use Apple Maps imagery, which streams on demand. If you start a trip offline, the flyover won't render.
Sync to iCloud happens automatically when you're back online.
Yes, as long as both devices are signed into the same iCloud account. Stamps, badges, streak, and road trip progress sync via Apple's CloudKit private database.
Try Settings → Restore Purchase. If it still doesn't clear, force- quit the app and relaunch — the app should pick up your purchase on next launch.
If the banner persists for more than 24 hours, please email us with your iCloud-account region (e.g., U.S. App Store) so we can check on our end.
No. No ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking. The single $3.99 "Full Access" purchase is the only revenue.
Yes. We designed MapSprout from the ground up with kids in mind:

The fastest way to send a feature request or bug report is the in-app Send Feedback form (Settings → Send Feedback, or tap the envelope icon at the top-right of the Home Hub). Both routes are gated by the Grown-Up Check.
If you'd rather email, we're at support@vectoryapps.com.
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple, not by Vectory. Visit Apple's Report a Problem page within 14 days of purchase to request a refund.
